Syncing Your iPod With Your Computer Without Losing Songs

Save for a select few, most people view iPod’s in general as a well-made, high-quality product. As with every product that exists in the real world (see: outside of what the company’s marketing or PR team is telling you), there exists certain problems or hiccups with the service or product that can prove to disillusion some of the future customer base.

Syncing iPod To New ComputerIn regards to iPod’s primarily the iPod Touch and Nano versions, the biggest complaint and problem that people seem to have with them is not being able to fully sync all of their songs. There are several reasons why this occurs and is ultimately less of a problem with how Apple makes the iPod’s and more of a problem with the carelessness or ineptitude of most of the iPod product customer base.

Since we’re always on the lookout to help people out, especially in regards to anything having to do with iPods — I suppose you could say we’re a bit obsessed – we’ve decided to go ahead and make a brief tutorial for anyone to follow whose having problems with or doesn’t know how to sync iPod without losing songs.

Syncing your computer to your iPod – no matter what type of iPod it may be – is stringent upon one sole thing: your connection/transfer cable. While you may be thinking you’re okay because you just bought a new one, this is not the case.

To truly and properly sync your gadget, you must always double-and-even-triple check the transfer cable connections during every possible moment during the actual transfer process. Some may find this unnecessary and worth just gambling with but if – again – you truly want to know how to sync iPod without losing songs – without losing ANY songs – then you’ll do well to double-and-triple check your transfer cable connections at every opportunity.

Follow Some Simple On-Screen Instructions

Quite literally, all you need to do is ensure you have iTunes downloaded on your computer and that your iPod is open and connected to the computer and viola! The rest is practically automated. And by that I mean that it essentially holds your hand throughout the entire process until it’s all over.

Just remember that in order to properly know how to sync iPod to new computers, you also must know that you can’t just rip out the transfer cables once the transfer is complete. You must first request permission from your taskbar (for PC’s) and wait for it to say that it is now safe to disconnect the cable.
